Learning to Blog

Just learning to Blog. Hope you can follow along.

The Start of our Journey

We are now one month into our full-time RV experience and we have had no major set backs, problems or issues. Although we did have a toilet back up situation our first week in back in Florida, but at least it wasn't as serious as we thought. Nothing some forced flushing couldn't take care of.
We had to stop in Lulu, Florida, population 295. Just West of Jacksonville. Took us an hour to find it, and 2 minutes to drive through it, but it was fun to have Lulu be in a town with her name on it.
Our three days in Jekkyl Island was not as glorious as I thought it would have been. Although it was a pretty island, and relaxing, the main beach was horrible. We wondered why there were no people in the water. We must have looked like all the rest of the tourists when arriving at the beach. Walked in the water and found that your feet would sink into 6 inches of muck and kick up some nasty looking mud. You couldn't see 2 inches in the water due to the thick mud floating around. So, no swimming for us. We did find a secluded beach nearby called Driftwood Beach, where there were hardly anyone there, but the swimming was much better. No mud.
The drive from Georgia to Maryland wasn't too bad, but after getting into New Jersey, forget it. Construction, traffic and more construction. We spent hours in bumper to bumper traffic in Jersey, New York and Connecticut. We thought we would have made it to New Bedford , MA by 6pm, but instead we arrived 5 hours later at 11pm.
Anyways, Lulu is an awesome driver. I feel comfortable having her pull our 37 foot home with our dually diesel truck. You should have seen the truck drivers checking her out as they drove by. It is not often that you see a sexy woman driving such a beast and pulling such a load. But she did it, and I managed to get some sleep.
So one month in and Lulu already did 2 shows at her old stomping ground at Cafe Portugal in New Bedford. The crowd had a great time, and the owner was happy. Our next gig will be August 5th at another restaurant just up the road.
We have been visiting with family. Lulu's dad turned 80 last week and we went to a family cook out at Lulu's sister's house in Dartmouth. Deb and Jim did a great job and we got to see most of the family. Molly is still having nightmares from their 150lb lab dog trying to molest her the entire time. Now we have to get her to counseling. I wonder if doggie insurance covers that?
I spent some way too short moments with my 20 year old daughter, and lot's of time with my parents. Our RV is in their driveway, and we are living in our old apartment at their house. We have been getting to the beach on our bikes now and then, and walking 3 miles almost every day. Good thing, because we have been eating way too much food.
I have some work to do on the rig, fix a couple of lights, fix my computer, replace the kitchen faucet annd an awning and finish adding the tire pressure monitor. And we have some planning to do for some parties next month. More beach, bike riding and family visits.
Stay tuned as we learn more about blogging. I will try to get Lulu to take over.

Not quite what you want your wife to have. Too many volunteers.

Since Molly couldn't go insid restaurants, we just ate in the parking lot.
